this was not an act of Rehoboam's own will, but one placed there by God in order
to further His purpose.
THE WORD THE LORD HAD SPOKEN... THROUGH AHIJAH THE
SHILONITE: There is no record of this prophecy of Ahijah in the Chronicles
account, but it can be found in 1Ki 11:29,30. Ahijah also wrote down the words
he spoke to Jeroboam (1Ki 12:15) even though the record is no longer
available.
