Youthful
The only occurrence: “Flee also youthful
lusts” (2Ti 2:22). Perhaps Paul used the word here with its obvious
implications (cp. lusts). But another possibility is this: A close relation is
neoterizo, which means ‘to make violent innovations’.
The context (vv 20,21) would chime in with this idea. In which case, Paul was
warning against the zeal of a young man eager to make changes in ecclesial
procedure simply because ‘the new must be better than the
old.’
